Mercedes-Benz is pursuing a new rebranding strategy to offer California drivers a better, easier way to shop for a new luxury sedan or crossover. In 2014, they introduced the "G" moniker for their SUV lineup to create a unified selection. Now, they're taking it up another notch. With the release of new models for 2016, we'll be seeing more than just a redesign. It's a rebirth.
For example, the Mercedes-Benz GLK becomes the GLC. The Mercedes-Benz M-Class, the GLE. The smaller luxury crossover, inspired by the C-Class, adopts the "C". The midsize, mid-level crossover, inspired by the E-Class, adopts the "E".
